TN: California chardonnay

2011 Thomas Fogarty, Portola Springs Vineyard, Santa Cruz Mountains chardonnay is remarkable wine. Each sip paints a deeper picture. Reminds me of driving to the river on a cool summer day, shorts, beer between my legs, the water's too cold but once you jump in you never want to get back out. What a great bottle of chardonnay.

Very nice!

Fogarty is making some nice wines now, but they're on the pricey side and benefit substantially from the location of their tasting room up on Skyline Drive. The Varner estate Chards also come from Portola Valley, so there's good terroir for this grape down there.

For my nineteenth birthday this chardonnay got me a union card and a wedding coat.

Why, one glass, split between 5 brothers, rid an entire generation of polio.
