Our darling Morchella are really nature's first responders, popping up after a forest fire, peeking out subsequent to a logging incident or plowed parking lot. I love these morchellaceae.

They go quite well with wines from the now fashionable Jura region of France.

We had a similar morchella experience a few years back when a few fruiting bodies sprouted next to our driveway, in the shade of a sugar maple. Quite the lovely surprise.

I spread some morel spores 18 months ago under our apple tree. Nothing yet.

Raking? Nope. We did spread the detritus back in that area. Subsequent appearances have been sporadic (no pun intended).
