Forlorn Hope and Game 6 of the N.B.A. Western Conference Finals

It’s all about the Warriors in our house. My family’s irrational relationship with basketball is matched only by my irrational relationship with wine.

Tip off:

Homemade pizza and a bottle of Forlorn Hope 2015 Suspiro del Moro.

I find something Trousseau like in this wine. My spouse commented on the cinnamon note on the nose. It is light and delicious.

Note: the choice of wine should in no way reflect my feelings about the Warriors’ chance of winning.

That game was bonkers.

I had a wacky 2007 Pradeaux and a reticent 2010 Roilette Tardive before getting home with 6:30 or so left in the game. Holy crap, Klay Thompson.

Over the last four or five years, the NBA has become so good I've more or less stopped watching college ball (sacrilege on Tobacco Road). It does save me some ethical angst.

Game 7 will be amazing. I'll have to drink something comparable.

What a game, wow.

2010 Roilette Tardive showed very poorly for me a couple of months ago, with tutti-frutti hawaiian punch / fruit compote flavors and lots of tannin. I won't dare to open another for a few years.

I haven't watched either in over 20 years, but to my knowledge college basketball was never anywhere near as good as the NBA. Hasn't college basketball always been the go-to for people in states without NBA teams and people who somehow appreciate the 'fighting spirit' of seeing which team can execute the least poorly.

Or watch online, if you can't turn your TV on.

Really, this is just another form of emergency preparedness.

Gotta have your logins in order when disaster strikes!

or just watch the stanley cup playoffs...
Hoping that this "let's schedule both games at the same time" thing doesn't become a trend.
