Censorship manipulation and the internet

So not sure if this is a rant or just sour grapes on my side.
I saw a post on Wine Berzerkers from Francois Audouze on one of his wine dinners. I thought it was intriguing and interesting. I don't drink those wines and I get a thrill reading the posts. Today when I log in the thread is gone. Maybe it is gone because of other issues but it smacks of commercial censorship. I think someone objected that this was a dinner where people needed to pay. Ok free market and maybe contrary to the politburo but this thread just disappeared. In this new age it seems that thoughts and discussions can be silenced. Good or bad regarding the thread I am offended and disconcerted that this happens. My views of history, recording what was stated and what happens on the internet are somehow offended. Perhaps I am upset because things are more ephemeral than ever. But I think I am sure I saw this thread but other than my memory I cannot prove now that it existed. The internet sucks.

Thoughts? views?

What is "Wine Berzerkers"?

Why would we care how they police their site?

What are your views of history?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Well simply recording what happened....
In the old days you had physical evidence - it degraded over time and you could draw inferences.

Now I am in a state of thinking I saw something but cannot confirm in any way unless it was recorded somehow.

Yeah and the realization that sites are private and you really should not have expectations sucks.

Hey, did you ever watch "Blow Up"? Sometimes even if it's recorded you can't confirm if you saw something or not.

I think it's so easy to wreck a train over there.

There have been 34 views of this thread. (It may be that writing this note has bumped it to 35. Ars longa, view-count brevis.)

If I understand correctly, you saw a post on an Internet wine forum. A day later, the post was no longer on the forum.

From that, you conclude censorship and manipulation? More specifically, "commercial" censorship?

Maybe he has the url?

I hope so.

Cause otherwise this is the strangest thread I've ever seen here.

I AM OUTRAGED THAT ANOTHER WINE BOARD DID SOMETHING SOMETHING BUT I'M NOT SURE WHAT.

This novel ought to provide some comfort.

Pierre Javelin lives in a police state called the City, where the sky is never visible and people live in parallelepipeds, geometrical monstrosities housing up to 5,000 families. Pierre is not aware that he has done anything wrong when, arriving home one night, he cannot turn his key in the lock. A giant "with a Russian mustache" is living in the apartment, and Pierre's wife is gone.
...

Pierre's neighbors don't know him; the telephone company denies he has a telephone; and his wife's office, the National Institute of Applied Idiosyncrasy (motto: Watch Your Step), acts as if she doesn't exist. Before the City is through with him, Pierre also loses his job, pay, birth certificate and signature.

Yes the thread reappeared. Perhaps it is part of the Matrix. Very weird. And that is the point in this new age.
