I had no idea Massa Vecchia made a rosato. But they sure do. I had the 2012 today at lunch. Apparently made as a blend in prior years, but 100% Malvasia Nero in 2012 according to the LDM back label. Darker than the Pfifferling/Renaud Venskab, but in the same vein. It is a delicious savory drink. Crunchy cranberry and raspberry flavors with a hint of the flavor of the exterior of a freshly grilled hamburger lurking under the fruit. It kept getting better and morphing, but was utterly satisfying from beginning of the bottle to the end. Handled spaghetti cacio e peppe and the 2 pizzas (anchovies, pepper conserva ,garlic, oregano and fior di latte & the traditional sausage pizza with hot pickled red peppers) with aplomb.
