Sharon, I think I'll cancel that NYC trip now. Maureen, my tastes are fairly catholic, though my most transcedent wine experiences usually involve Burgundy. I was going to peruse the menu and choose a few wines to bring accordingly. I've got quite a bit of Riesling and Nebbiolo moldering in the basement, along with an embarrassing amount of Burgundy.

BTW, since Keith won't be coming, my urge to bring a few Chateauneufs to geek out with Jonathan has diminished somewhat, though I could still be persuaded.

Y'all wouldn't change dates for me, so I went to the Tombs instead and drank beer. Sheesh!

But hey, my favorite bar, ever.

It turns out I won't be able to join the group for dinner, much to my disappointment.

If protocol allows, I'll still try to come by for a glass of wine and to help welcome Mark to D.C., but would have to leave by 8 or so.

If 'dropping in' like this is problematic, because of seating, etc., I understand.
