So, a local retailer is offering the Perrieres, Pruliers and Chaignots at silly prices. I've read some very nice things about NSG in 2006, and Chevillon in particular.

Has anyone tasted these yet from bottle? .sasha?

I was going to pick up some of the two Ps, but perhaps I should be considering the Chaignots as well.
 
who, .me ? Only in barrel. These particular .2006s have not landed yet.
They really were great in barrel though, I liked everything, but if forced to choose among the three, I'd take the Ps indeed.
Professor Gilman liked them at least as much as the 05s, it seems.

Presume you're talking about Premier Cru. Those prices aren't silly. It's the higher prices that are silly. Chevillon sells very cheaply; check on wine-searcher and you'll see that in Europe they sell for a fraction of PC's price.

Too true. But the usual west-coast type situation with Chevillon is far more depressing, wouldn't you say?

Reading his note, I came to the same conclusion. And I've heard another wine writer who hangs out here feels similarly. You could almost say that there seems to be an emerging consensus.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but even at the same price Chaignots seems to have intrinsic value in that it's (usually?) approachable sooner.
 
I tried three Chevillons not too long ago, though they were the Busselots, Roncieres and the Cailles. They were are quite good. I haven't had any of the 2005s, so can't comment on the relation to those. But, the common thread among the three when I had them was that they were all drinking well already. Very fresh and juicy. Of the three I had the Cailles showed the most promise, but I'd be happy to have any of them.
