A Brazilian friend arrives there tomorrow and is asking what is the best natural wine store for him to go get some bottles to take back home. Anticipated thanks!

I don't know that there is a place like Chambers st. in DC (maybe others do?). If your friend approaches a sales person in either Macarthur's or Warren Leonard in Weygandt, they should be able to steer him in the right direction. Doug Rosen in Arrowwine, should also be able to help.

I agree with Jonathan (including on the point that there is no Chambers St. equivalent in the district). Cork Wine Market on 14th St. is also okay, but I prefer Weygandt and MacArthurs.

Yeah, DC used to have an outstanding retail wine scene but that has not been true for 20 years.
