i had given these bottles up for dead, but just opened one (just to get it out of racks, assuming i'd be pouring down the sink) and damn its alive and delicious. bright with a lemony front (hint of sav blanc cat pee) and steamed quince custard-like ripeness at the middle and end. and endless acidic finish.

nice surprise.

It is pretty good, but I'd trade it even for 15 Egon Spatelese.

Good call.

I opened a bottle of the 97 Silex, bought on release, about 1.5 years ago, and it didn't get the generosity you seemed to get. I did end up pouring the last third to half of the bottle down the sink. That's great it drank so well for you.
