sending wine via ups?

i'm sure that it is legal enough. your good fortune is due to the lazy laid back ups employees in groovy california that are too chilled out to play fire chief and hall monitor with their own regulations.

I'd guess that Napa UPS in particular has a financial motive for not being too diligent in their scrutiny. Those of us who live elsewhere may not be so fortunate.

I might have dreamt that "olive oil" from an olive oil farm on the Pacific side of America Made Great Again made it to my regional UPS package office here near the Northeastern Atlantic intact once or twice in the recent coupla years. Or not.

I just heard from a retailer I had wines on order from that they can't ship to NY any more. Since they never shipped to NJ I'm working on a work around.

Have them ship to me, Jay. I'll make sure that they get to you [insert emoticon of choice here]

I wrote an email letter to my state AG, Eric Schneiderman. I don't think he is typically an asshole but nobody's perfect. (Current NYS leadership, in general, is wildly inconsistent on taking right/wrong stances, per my compass.)

He wrote a snail-mail letter back to me. It's the usual stuff -- Thank you for writing, I appreciate your views, I will keep them in mind, yada yada -- but at least he knows he has unhappy constituents watching him on an obscure topic.
