Click Bait from the NY Times

I thought Deadpool was actually pretty good until the end when it turned into every other action movie ever. It's almost like watching other people play video games.

I also watched The Revenant that flight. You have to like good survival porn.

On my last plane flight I think I watched a refurbished version of "Casino Royale" (from the 1960s) and some weird Japanese flick that had a guy negotiating extra life with the Devil in exchange for giving up things in his life.

Is that supposed to make me feel better?

I was supporting the notion that there are many choices available. You don't have to watch wine dreck.

I recently watched a 45-minute documentary on General Tso's Chicken. That was fun.

My absolute best airline movie find was Miss Granny. A very funny and unexpectedly moving South Korean comedy.

Highly recommended.

The basic plot is that a tough as nails grandmother in her 70s decides to have her funeral photograph taken. She comments that she wants it done before she looks too old. The photographer reassures her that he'll make her look like she's 20 years old. She laughs, he takes the photograph, and it's only some time later that she realizes that she's suddenly 20 years old again.

How did we get here?

My usual MO is to sleep on planes. I'm usually out long before we take off. The one movie that did keep me awake when I should have been sleeping was In The Best Possible Taste with Grayson Perry. Originally a three part mini series on the BBC. the production chronicles artist Grayson Perry as he observes and immerses himself in the tastes of lower, middle and upper classes of British society. Perry then translates his intepretations into tapestries representing each of the classes.

Highly recommended
