I was fortunate to visit Xaviar Caillard this past Sunday. I have visited 100s of winemakers and yet this was the visit I was most excited for and it did not disappoint. Having Abe there was fantastic because he is fluent in both french and winemaking. Xavier waited close to 10 years before releasing his first wine and mostly avoids publicity so I am slightly hesitant to post this but Abe did such a great job on this writeup I think it needs to be read and I have not posted anything of much value here in some time!

The wines particularly the Chenin are outstanding. I was fortunate to find a source in Paris several years ago; however, that dried up long ago and the wines are nearly impossible to find. I do think he will have some for sale in the future.

Writing puts everything in quite a precious tone. But does sound very interesting. Which I suppose is also the point.
