TN: Among the plonk... (Aug. 2017)

Another weekend not in charge of the drinks. And, as it is a memorial service, no honorable way to sneak my own bottles in. There was Blackstone Merlot, Parker Station Pinot Noir, another CA pinot whose name escapes me, and Jadot 2015 Beaujolais-Villages - no specific terroir here but it's definitely French gamay on the full and fleshy side. Not as bad.

Multiplied together they weren't as good as the bottle I drank with dinner before I left home: Cowan Cellars 2009 Syrah, Bennett Valley - nicely tucked and tailored now, a whiff of sous-bois adds interest, held up very well for the second night, too. Got any more of this in a library release, Jim?

Jeff,
Two cases remain for sale. That leaves me a couple for library wines. Getting down to the end.
Glad you like it. Not many 12.8% Syrah's around these parts.
Best, jim
