Rootdown Cellars, Healdsburg

I tried my first bottle of trousseau from Rootdown Cellars and it was delicious. I found the wine to be elegant, well balanced, and unmistakably trousseau. The fruit came from St Amant vineyard in Amador County. The owner/winemaker is Mike Lucia. I don’t know anything about him but I look forward to trying his other wines. I have a bottle of the grenache blanc (Redwood Glenn vineyards, Dry Creek Valley) and one of the mourvedre (Dry Bone Ranch, Amador County).

they make several bottlings of Mourvedre, and I got a chance to taste this Summer at the 7% Solution tasting in SF. Wish I remember which one it was that did so much of what Mourvedre does well; gonna have to look it up!

I'm with Steve - I tasted their wines in Healdsburg at the tasting he and I were at but I don't remember them. There was a lot of wine being poured that day.
Best, jim

Jim, I actually tasted them at the SF iteration of the event, and there was one bottling, which they must have sold out of, since it's not on the website, which was really impressive.

Steve,
I tasted their line-up but my only recollection was that they were good wines but didn't stand out. It would, however, not be unlike me to miss a diamond in the ruff. Actually, I rely upon you to point me toward them.
Your Leo Steen comments got me interested and now I am enamored.
So your palate seems to be worth following - who'd a thunk?
Best, jim
