WD is back indeed! Druet question

A flush of the olde daze!

Has anyone tried any of that old Druet at K and L? I bought a bunch, but haven't gotten it yet.
 
Unfortunately K&L is tough for east coast now. They told me they won’t ship fedex or ups.

Also I’m still sitting on my 1996 Vaumoreaus. Is it time yet?
 
of my 4 bottles,
i had the 3rd but 2 years
ago and thought it ready

and looking for a reason to drink the last 1 now.

then again, i missed the "how to age wines forever" class...

but at least i know how to complete a descending numeral haiku

I seem to have consumed one a few years ago as well, but with no recollection of it. OTOH, a 1996 Fiefs de Louy a couple of years ago was magnificent, though more like a Bordeaux than a Loire.

They went bankrupt and were bought out. The K and L bottles are part of the fire sale.

Style changed. Oak and extraction. The old wines for the mid-nineties are delicious.
 
Just some feedback - we bought the 98, 00, 02, and 09 of what is at KL. The 02 was my favorite; the 98 (now gone) was a wraith (in a very good way), the 00 worthwhile, the 09 Chinon was ok. It is going fast and WD worthy.
 
And finally, they have many of the Taluau's back in stock, and these are worthwhile as well, though not quite the spectacular deal the Druet's are. The Druet's have a bit more faerie dust going on as well.
 
I opened a 1996 Vaumoreau a couple of weeks ago. Terrific, with dark fruit and earth accented by a perfect touch of pyrazine. Still holding up very well.
