Both showed exceedingly well and, no surprise, their evolution was basically the same.

The group was divided as to which was preferred.

I thought it would be interesting to compare French vs California and the concept seemed to go over well in this case.

I've always really liked the Montelena '87 but it was hard pressed to outperform the Ducru '86. Rate it a tie!

Cole, sorry, good question. KW are the initials of the dinner guest who is a HUGE Chartreuse fan.

The digestive served rather blindly was the Chartreuse VEP Green.

The Chartreuse was a big hit, especially since some of the mignardises were chocolate...and also since KW can be a riot when he is so inclined as he was with this offering in his honor.
