2015 Hofgut Falkenstein Niedermenniger Herrenberg Riesling Kabinett trocken
2015 Hofgut Falkenstein Niedermenniger Herrenberg Riesling Spätlese feinherb

Good for you. I thought the 2015 KE kabinett and auslese became so much less expressive over the past year that I stopped drinking them. But it might be a long wait until the other side! I should probably get some 16s instead, and just mentioned that this morning to Russ in fact.

The 2016s have landed locally, I just haven't grabbed mine yet.

Opened my first 2016 Niedermenniger Herrenberg Riesling Kabinett trocken last night and it was a salty rocky explosion. Even the crowd that normally prefers richer wines was into it and kept pouring.

I've just had the 2015 and 2016 within a couple of days of each other, but that is how I'd describe the 2015, not the '16. The former is a scintillating mineral bath, while the 2016 by comparison seems riper, a tiny bit softer and very, very pretty; both are really lovely right now but quite different.

I don't think I've had the '15 but if that is even more of a scintillating mineral bath than the '16 I will have to check it out. Various 15s and 16s still floating around NC outlets.
