As this is my youngest son’s birth year, I boughtt 750s on release but also a single half bottle to do a status check. From the latter:
AP #11.
Aromas from sampling on day zero and day one are fairly vibrant though there is an overarching slight hint of petrol aromatically that comes in and out. The nose is leaning toward ripe Granny Smith apple, unripe peach, and orange blossom with wafts of caraway seed, anisette, mustard seed, and coffee bean. It is heading toward tertiary but still shedding some baby fat. A rich mouthfeel with integrated acidity is slightly thicker than normal for this wine — again the baby fat of the vintage still present — but acids keep ripeness in check and the the finish is long with a refreshing quinine//lime bitterness that again indicates this is still adolescent.
I love it. Still a long road ahead.
