2016 JM Burgaud BV Vignes de Thulon is all on. Great balance, seems like 2016 is a great year. Smoke! Somehow delivers very fresh acidity while also providing some age-like complexity. Recommended.

2016 is shaping up to be a year much more aligned with my preferences in Gamay than 2015 was. As an aside, I'll note something I've observed over the past few decades: even-numbered years tend to be far more appealing to me in many of my favorite wine regions than odd-numbered ones. When I think of the years I bought Chablis in for instance, I've got 2000, 2002, 2004, 2008, 2010, 2014. In Burgundy, my holdings are mostly from 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014 (though I have some odd-year holdings for near-term drinking).

Perhaps you buy from places with extended (> 1 year) wood ageing, and you simply prefer one set of barrels to the other.
