Suddenly...SF

This Saturday, for one day only, I will be in the Bay Area and have no plans for dinner. If any Bay Area Disorderlies would care to share some food and wine with me that evening, I am open to any possibilities. I will be in the East Bay but staying that night near SFO, so either venue is hunky-dory with me. Sorry for the late notice, but that’s how I roll these days.

Mark, La Ciccia is a bit of a commute from SFO but definitely worth it. Wonderful food, pleasing service, and extensive, reasonably priced wine list.

. . . . Pete

And incredibly hard to get into on short notice. I agree otherwise.

Crap, already have plans with Jim Hanlon for early dinner at RT Rotisserie and SFJazz show (Chris Potter, Dave Holland, Zakir Hussain).

Pete, a Sat. reservation at La Ciccia requires reserving 3 weeks in advance.

You will definitely not want to miss that show. On a "La Ciccia" note . . . I lived about 15 minutes walking distance from them for a few years, but was never able to go. Simply could not get a reservation and then I gave up trying, would walk by and give up again. Glad - for them - that they are busy in a very much oversaturated market.

Oooh...please report back on the Potter/Holland!

I didn't go. I've been fighting a head cold and yesterday was the worst day. I didn't want to spread germs (and cough during the performance!). I tried to get a hold of Mark to see if he wanted to take my ticket and meet Jim for dinner. Never heard back.

So sorry, Larry. My phone dioesnt send mail reliably so my reply declining your very kind offer was lost in the ether.

Damn. I didn't see this until now just now, but certainly would have pulled myself away from the World Cup to meet up with the M'k.
