Wine Sales

Restaurant business here in the valley has slowed. I think the upcoming year is going to be worse. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

The outlook is not good for restaurants in general. Not only do surveys of both restaurant managers and consumers indicate that traffic is down and about to get worse, on top of that 2008 was a record year for restaurant openings. It may be even worse in Napa Valley, if tourism sees the expected decline. Now's the time to really butter up those wineries who'll be bringing trade clients to dine...

Is it true that someone from Napa Valley is called a Napan?

I presume that only someone residing in the City of Napa would be a Napan.

If in Yountville, they'd properly be referred to as a Yountebank (especially if they make spoofed wines, while a person in the southern end of the valley would be a Prima Carnero, and a resident of the north could be a Calistogan, Trinindad and Tobaggan (not good for snappy headlines).
