Ruet 2013 Brouilly "Cuvee Vieille Vignes" - is this said "roo-AY" or "roo-ET"?, anyway... Day 1: nice nose but difficult at the table: other than with brioche, it has a tinny odor, like too-clean metal or the inside of a sardine can, unattractive and disappointing; Day 3: miracles have been worked; this is now beautifully vinous, earth, fruit, a bit of alcohol, yummy and playing nicely with the food (basically, the leftover version of the meal from Day 1), pleasing

Xavier Gerard 2014 Condrieu "Marmouzin" - just like at the store tasting... Day 1: vivid, tangy, juicy, flowery and then goes minerally later; Day 2: shutting down, basically similar but more citrus-apricotty and a lot less interesting

Luneau-Papin 2015 Muscadet "Vera Cruz" - a new vineyard for L-P, very old vines on schist and gneiss; stony, even in this hot/fruity vintage, not so lemony as Briords but it will remind; shows a gentle roundness now; tangy enough but not sure it will make old bones (but no doubt a few years would be good); the 750 is a single portion so buy accordingly

Anne-Sophie Dubois 2016 Fleurie "Clepsydre" - Day 1: crisp, light-medium weight, some cool fruitiness up front fades seamlessly into a minerally finish; Day 4: about the same, maybe losing focus a little

Proprieta Sperino 2017 Rosato "Rosa del Rosa" - Nebbiolo and vespaolina. This is a terrific rosato: minerally, cherry-tinged perfume, a substantial mid-palate and a finish that knocks around the inside of my mouth for a good long time. I'm not a big fan of rose but this is pretty impressive. Gotta walk down the red aisle next time. also reported elsewhere hereabouts

Chais du Vieux Bourg 2011 Pinot Noir - yup

Yup means forgettable? I only ask because this is a producer I am curious about.
'Yup' means it is just exactly what it says it is, four-square, by the book, colored within the lines, unremarkable (hence, unremarked).

How dreary that sounds.

I had the 2014 of this and liked the style (Burgundian for lack of a better term). Will keep an eye out for 2016.

This rosé is killer. Maybe my favorite of the 4 we're drinking (so far) this summer (Matthiasson, Steph's favorite, is coming next week). Here is our list, in my preference order:

2017 Proprietà Sperino Lessona Rosa del Rosa
2017 Montenidoli Canaiuolo Toscana IGT
2017 G.D. Vajra Langhe Rosabella
2017 Ch“teau de Peyrassol Côtes de Provence Rosé

I liked the 2015 a smidgen better.

Depressingly.
