Barrot is generally a nice old school CdP, but twenty years can be pushing it. Yours might have seen better days or it may just not be your cup of wine.
Probably, a little of both.
I don’t play as well with G as I do with S and M.
Wait . . .
Best, jim

Someone on this Board made this very joke last Saturday talking about Steve’s Sauvage wine. You must have been the fly on the wall.

I’m so out of the loop.

Well technically we were offline on the West side of Manhattan at the time.

Jim - thanks for the updates on the Marsh (I have one left) and the 09 Lapierre (I've got a few of those), not to mention the other notes.

Just to re-enforce, I had the '09 Lapierre about a month ago and the '09 Foillard with Lisa two weeks ago and both showed beautifully. If you're averse to riper fruit, though, they're not for you.

Brad, you have become the King of 2009 Bojo. In a good way.

I liked the vintage and since I worked for a distributor at that time that distributed Kermit Lynch, I bought a case of each of the gang of four at cost.

Yeah, I love Barrot, but 98 might be getting a little tired now, or at least une autre chose.

Wine Impressions 8-12-18Wine impressions - 8-12-18

N/V Cedric Bouchard, Champagne In ‘Florescence La Parcelle Blanc de Noirs - This bottle was the best Champagne of my life and one of my three best wines ever.

Strong sentiments. Always tough to calibrate statements like 'best x wine of my life' when I don't know how much x wine the person drinks. But top three wines ever is pretty serious, since I know you drink a lot of (good) wine!
Agreed.
In fact, I dont drink a lot of bubbles, so that’s not a very high hill to climb.
But I’m serious about the other (to the extent that my memory still works).
Best, jim

Jim, these are single vintages wines, although not legally permitted to be labeled as Vintage Champagne. Usually the back label has the vintage and disgorgement. Did you happen to catch those for this bottle?

Thanks.

Kirk,
No back label.
I seem to remember reading that his Dad made this and that when Cedric took over it had been something like eight years on the lees. I also think that the article mentioned the vintage but I don’t recall it now.
My last bottle . . . but no regrets as I had so much good luck with this wine.
Best, jim
