2015 Olga Raffault Barnabes

Never had this bottling before so I was happy to order when I saw it on a wine list in Omaha.

Soft but generous fruit. Not as tannic or showing as much acid as the Picasses I've had but I don't know how much of that is the vineyard and how much is the vintage. Quite lovely, exhibiting a calm, friendly charm. Quietly joyful.

From a position of almost complete ignorance, I'm guessing the vineyard. The only Raffault Picasse I've ever had that showed well when under about 15 years old is the 2007. Before the 07, I've got to go back to the 02 to get one that's drinking well. But I haven't tasted the 15.
