"Champers?"

The Politburo should shut this thread down, have the author tarred and feathered and banished to a realm of big Zin and Aussie drinkers for insulting the noble beverage that is Champagne. No mercy!

Sorry, but I must put out as evidence the use of the term "Champagned-out" by certain members of this board...

Indeed, but the term wasn't "Champer'd" out. J'accuse!

Champers is non-aristocratic English slang. Much preferable to "bubbly" for me (for non-Champers, I prefer sparkler to bubbly, but without justification) and more in sync with politburo polit-ing. I vote yea.

There are few things more disappointing than having you not take the bait.

You've been swimming disapprovingly around several of my lures lately. I'm going back to night crawlers for the month of January.

I'd suggest baiting your hooks with a good sourmash. I hope you're using barbless as it's catch and release only this time of the year.
