TN: Don Rice 60th (Jan 12, 2019)

with regard to WOTNs my personal favorites were the 1989 Huet Le Mont and the 1990 Margaux. Unfortunately the 1990 Foreau came out too late for me to try it. I was wined out by then.

I've been doing a project, trying intro-level Champagnes and other sparkling wines. Huet petulant is the winner, IMHO, among the non-champagne choices - although I have a soft spot for Tissot Cremant.

Putting the “petulant” aside, the following was very good from another thread, Bruno Dangin NV Cremant de Bourgogne "Cuvee Blanche", and I wonder whether the entire category of Cremant de Bourgogne is largely unexplored in the US market for quality bubbly.

Super wow and many happy returns Don.

Most of those wines are out of my league but I will add a note that the Taluau's running through K and L of late have just been delightful, and not one flawed, brett or otherwise.

Mind blown

No, please, the mind is a terrible thing to blow. Costs twenty something Euros around here, versus double or triple that for his still cuvées, so it's the sweet spot in the line-up.

Where are you finding minds for only 20 Euros? I lost mine a while ago and this seems like a good opportunity to replace it.

It's a state monopoly, like Vinmonopolet, so no exports allowed.
