That sale is insane, especially on some of the Burgundy. Anyone know the retailer? Some major bargains there that are hard to believe.

They've been around for a while and I've ordered from them a handful of times with no problems. I took delivery of a couple cases last week from this current sale.

There used to be some association with Rudy K, I believe. I've been tempted but they won't ship here.

There's some interesting stuff for sure.

So sorry I looked, now I can't unsee it. A lot of 2011-2012-2013 liquidation going on, but, immerhin ... I'm getting cramps trying not to buy.

Take some comfort in the fact you are not alone

Does the Rudy association introduce an element of counterfeit risk?

Not on recent releases. As I said, I've received two cases and the bottles are all sound.

Yeah, me too. Seven cases, we'll see what the Mme says about that!

Let's hope it's legit, eh? I called them and they sounded good. Apparently just had to move on some old vintage stuff that's been sitting in temp control for a few years...eehh...

They ship to WA?

Thanks, Mark. I suppose, when the State of CA finally revoked Rudy's liquor license, that something had to be done with the wine. One wonders how much is real, one wonders exactly how it is that Dan P was given ownership of the whole thing, one wonders why the State of CA didn't simply take it all, etc.

I'm not too worried about fake wine - not worth the bother given the level I bought at. And hard to believe they'd do it again. I'm more worried about getting delivery since I won't have it shipped due to temps until fall.

What level did you buy at? I was advised a while ago that counterfeiting is common 'mid-level' wines - say upper-end villages to 1ers, in Burgundy.

Just curious.

Mark:

The document in Don's WB post from 2010 shows a different address than the document you've posted - "W 3rd St." versus "Wilshire Blvd." I take it for granted that I'm overlooking the connection, or comparing the wrong documents. Where are you seeing the same address for both businesses?

I tried to scan through the remaining 19 pages in the thread, but ran out of steam. What's happened in the intervening 9 years?

Thanks.

Here is a screen shot from the "First the Wine" website showing the address as identical to the Wine Hotel
