In which life imitates art

Anyone had a bottle of Chateau Lafon-Larzoe, contigu Yquem?

I once got a bottle in a mixed lot and it was not particularly memorable (in a good sense).

Having worked a harvest in the area years ago, the number of passes through the vineyard as well as how well the pickers select the best botrytised berries, tossing out all those with other sorts of rot, makes a huge difference. And Yquem used to do that 10x everyone else.

I am fairly aware of the differences in cultivation (especially back in the day). What impressed me was the "contigu" claim was not limited to the abomination described near SE.
