Andrea Felici Verdicchio

I just found out that Leopardo Felici was awarded winemaker of the year for Gambero Rosso’s 2020 Tre Bicchieri guide. Well deserved. He only makes two wines from his vineyards in the Apiro commune of Castelli di Jesi - a Riserva and a Classico Superiore.

I discovered his wine through the single parcel Riserva, which might be described as something like a salty Meursault spritzed with lime peel. It is one of the best Italian whites out there. But perhaps an even better testament to his skills as a winemaker and his clearly fine terroir is the 2011 Classico Superiore. It is remarkable that a white wine so modestly priced at this stage of maturity should be drinking as well as it is right now. I like to pour this wine for my friends without introduction. They always think it’s way more expensive.

I couldn't have said it better. Who brings it in in the US?

Hi Luca,
David Bowler wine imports it to the US.
