C'mon Pete. The trolling continues! After all these years you guys still don't proofread these menus before distribution!?!

On more mundane topics, how was the Mugnier? I don't buy it any more, but have fond memories of the 06 Maréchale because I drank a lovely bottle in 2011 after getting kicked out of a PIH/CSW tasting by Dressner, because we had (inadvertently) offended his sensibilities.

I don't recall this story. What happened?

Can’t remember if I posted about it. Nothing too crazy. He made a huge scene by yelling and insisting that we leave immediately, but the underlying conflict was rather minor (as you know better than I do, this was the era of brain tumors and medication and behavior that was more erratic than usual). The trigger was me trying to get out of a conversation with him before he was ready to finish and in a way that left him feeling offended.

The scene left us shellshocked and the Mugnier was a welcome balm.

The Mugnier Nuits-St-Georges Clos de Marechale 1er Cru '06 was excellent -- dark red, generous perfumes of variety of fruits, nice complexity, served so well on palate with depth, balance, and elegance, nicely rounded and full, again fine complexity and texture, on and on, truly nothing not-to-like. Easily within its drinking window with plenty of potential for down-the-road enjoyment.

Ideal accompaniment for the duck course.

Of course, it paled in the shadow of the Clos Vougeot which followed.
