On Monday, Jan 13 (2020) I will be arriving in DC for a 24 hour stay. I'm scheduled to arrive at 7:30 pm at [REDACTED] National, so could be up for something informal at 8:30 or beyond if anyone is available then. It couldn't go too late, obviously, as I'm scheduled to meet with some lawyers the next day (Williams & Connolly, for the interested).

Since no plans worked out, I went out to dinner at Momofuku CCDC, a mere block from my hotel. Their wine list is rich with a lot of the cool kids from CA and elsewhere (Donkey & Goat, Enfield, Liquid Farm, Dirty & Rowdy, various Pet-Nats) but no half bottles, alas. I settled for a glass of Liquid Farm Mourvèdre Rosé — which resembled a Bandol rosé but was heavier — and an unremarkable Enfield Tempranillo. Because they ran out of the Branzino dish I’d ordered, they offered to comp me dessert. Instead, I parlayed it into a comped Fernet-Branca. All in all, quite a good experience.
