2009 Beaujolais

I'm still surprised at how people (and that means you) speak of carbonic and non carbonic Bojo as if they all supported the same political party.

How do you backfill Beaujolais? Rarely see them on the secondary.

Brun's Grille Midi enjoyable but not worth the wait, perhaps?
Do you think that speaks to other of his bottlings that year? I have Morgon, Cote de Brouilly, and a single bottle of Moulin-a-Vent.

Jeff, it's been about 18 months since I pulled one, but I think his 2009s are absolutely delicious. I'd drink them in the order listed.

Chamonard Morgon still good, evolving nicely.

I have no doubt. Not exactly the norm though, is it? I've been thinking lately that I should take one for the team, and inspect an 09 Chanrion as well. Wild guess is, as with Chamonard, Newtonian physics won't apply.

Right! But don't you think that distinction is orthogonal to the 09-ness in question? Eager for any counter-argument, even if speculation.

Chanrion makes non-Newtonian fluids? Ooh er. Be still my beating heart.

Fair point. Democrats and Republicans sweat equally during hot summers.

Thanks, Pashuka.

Had a good 09 Thivin CdB recently, and good Vissoux Moulin last year, from magnum, which needed air overnight to show well. Foillard's 09 Py seems to be much liked, and my last bottle suggested plenty of life remaining. In addition to these, I also have Coudert VT (magnums) and Desvignes Javernière in reserve. Also some Brun, but I can't seem to warm to his wines, despite numerous attempts.

Lapierre's Morgon is now just tipping over to earthier flavors and aromas. An excellent bottle, and I think better at this stage than when it was in its primary stage.

great to hear, since the '11 needed to be consumed at least a couple of years ago (if at all)

that's unfortunate. I have never been one to buy consistently. So I am unaware of the problems with the '11, though I do know Lapierre's reputation isn't consistent.
