CTN: 2006 Do Ferreiro Cepas Vellas

Had some of this a couple weeks ago. Damn good. Also had the 2005 which had a little more junk in the trunk and was a touch better I thought. I wish I could find some more. I like calling it albamino though.

The 2005 had lots of junk, but also lots of alcohol. I found it a little overripe, even flabby. I was drinking it in Tuscany during July heat though and the fridge didn't work very well. I also slugged an entire (well-chilled) bottle from my hotel water glass in Madrid while watching Copa Amrica and it went down more easily.
 
I've got some 2000 CV in the locker. Last pulled one a year ago and it was still evolving. Not unlike a granit Muscadet. Beautiful mineral smack.
 
What a happy coincidence, just picked up half a case last night from a fellow board member. I tasted this juice with JBL a few months ago and thought it was mighty fine. Can't find the wholesaler on the west coast for this wine?

I need help with the translation. Is this the old vines, or the "regular" Do Ferreiro? I had the "regular" Do Ferreiro from 2006 and thought it was excellent-round, intensely flavored, but still quite crisp (no flabbiness here). Preferred it to the Pazo Senorans from 2006, which was also quite good.

Cepas Vellas. Old vines.

I like the 2007 a bit more. Leaner.
 
I think both the 2007s, regular and Cepas Vellas, are still way too young and closed up. They don't show much aromatically. This is serious wine and it always needs some bottle time. I believe the 2007 will be an outstanding vintage.
