Local merchant in Austin is offering two of his 2018 wines: "Lucky You!" and "Blank." I still miss CRB, and hope these might be a reasonable replacement. Guardedly optimistic. Any comments/observations on the wines?
 
I didn't have a lot of experience with the CRB sauvignon blanc, so I can't help with the comparison. I have enjoyed the Blank bottling as a winter white - it is somewhat more muscular than Lucky You! and does well at the table with heftier food. I might look to Thomas-Labaille's Cuvée Buster as a stylistic reference point, if that helps.
 
I liked Laurent when he was half of the pair behind Ici in Fort Greene; he and Catherine ran a swell joint back then. I've followed his wines a bit since he returned to France. They are good but not CRB replacements.
