CWD: 2005 Chermette Fleurie Poncie

Just out of the cellar, this is showing plenty of fruit, but it's all candied. If there was a problem I expected the 2005s to show as they grew older, this wasn't it. Hopefully the bottle improves as it warms up.

Jeff -- have a few more, so I sure hope it grows out of it. It did improve with air and warmth, but just to the edge of the drinkability line. There's history for flabby wines shedding their middle-age candied fruit and developing into something worthwhile . . . but it's not a long list.

Jim -- yeah, it was, wasn't it? What gives?

I had a bottle of '05 Les Garants a few weeks ago. It didn't show any candied notes. It was a nice example of aged Beaujolais.
