NWR: How mRNA vaccines happened so fast

I can't say you are wrong since I am insufficiently knowledgeable. It remains the case that I don't get the flu and didn't start getting shots until relatively recently.

maybe it's been all that clean living.

With regard to VLM's point about flu vs. cold, I suspected something was off with his objection. So I took a look at basic sites to confirm my memories. There are far more varieties of known "colds," 200 known ones caused from three basic roote, coronavirus, rhinovirus and parainfluenz, with as much as a possible 30% more. It should thus be as impossible to develop immunity to colds as to the flu and those sites indeed state that it is. And, yet, it is well known that teachers have stronger immune systems on average than most adults. There may be a cumulative effect, since over ten years, you are going to be exposed to a large number of the variants out there and new variants are likely to run in common tracks (mutations, like typos, follow patterns). But I don't really know the cause, just the effects.

The bigger question is why Prof. Loesberg got so close to his students that he was inhaling all their droplets!

WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS IN THE MODERNA COVID-19 VACCINE?

The Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine contains the following ingredients: messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA), lipids (SM-102, polyethylene glycol [PEG] 2000 dimyristoyl glycerol [DMG], cholesterol, and 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine [DSPC]), tromethamine, tromethamine hydrochloride, acetic acid, sodium acetate, and sucrose.

whew. no high fructose corn syrup.

That’s a pretty simple formulation, actually. The “lipids” (cholesterol ain’t no lipid, guys) form the liposome, the delivery vehicle that encapsulates the mRNA and keeps it from harm. The other things are buffering agents, keeping the ph in a range that promotes liposome stability and prevents osmotic shock during injection.

(Shoulder still sore from his Pfizer vaccine shot yesterday)

Gail and I got our second vaccines last Tuesday. No significant reactions to either one. My arm was a little sore for the first one. Barely even that for the second. It was Pfizer.

my second Pfizer shot hit me fairly hard the day after. slight chills, low grade fever, and joint aches. i was fine after a night of sleep though.
