Chill. A big gulp can be quenching and useful, though not recommended. This is a well-made, but scientific beverage. It deserves a B- in my opinion. Put down the crack pipe or post a note yourself.
TN: 1998 Frederic Esmonin Gevrey Chambertin Estournelles Saint-Jacques. Rather cloudy. I am not sure what to make of this producer, or maybe of this vintage. Any thoughts would be welcome. It gets going only with about three hours of air, and is better with four. At first I did not like...
TN: 2001 Kilikanoon Shiraz Oracle, Clare Valley. Nose of new world syrah. Very sweet and deep, but simple on the nose. In the mouth, this is an abomination of sickly sweet gook. A 7-Eleven product, not a wine. $38. 82 points.

TN: 2001 Tardieu-Laurent Vacqueyras Vieilles Vignes. Good underlying material, but the wood treatment clamps down, even on the second night, to the detriment of the fruit and expression. I vastly preferred the 2000, as that problem was less obvious given the blooming fruit. I wish they would...
