I had a great time. Apparently my head did, too. That Armagnac was a nice touch but ... ouch.
Great cassoulet.
So what wines were there again? I recall these reds:
Chateau Montus Madiran Cuve Prestige 1988 (magnum)
Chateau Montus Madiran Cuve Prestige 1995
Chateau Montus Madiran Cuve Prestige 1997
Chateau Montus Madiran 1995
Primo Palatum Madiran 1998
Chateau d'Aydie Madiran 1990
Berthoumieu Cuve Charles de Batz Madiran 2005
Clos Triguedina "Prince Probus" Cahors 1978
Mas de Daumas Gassac 1985
a corked magnum of 1979 Cahors
some wine from Joe Dressner, very thoughtful, in light of the above corker (Domaine Richaud? I have the cork from the wine, it's sealing the 97 Montus Prestige I brought back home)
and there were some whites:
Domaine Ganevat Savagnin Ouille 2003?
Edmunds St. John Heart of Gold, vintage?
an outta sight Manzanilla sherry, from Jay, thanks!
Muller-Catoir halbtrocken something or other 1992, also from Jay, gorgeous; brilliant field triage performance on the cork by Jeff
some "hipster" white I failed to remember anything about
another wine or two I am forgetting?
and the Armagnac.
Anyway, great time, lots of wine for just nine people. I particularly enjoyed the Chateau d'Aydie (FTW!!), the 1995 regular Montus, the Prince Probus, the sherry, and the Muller-Catoir.
