Not sure what it all means.
Could be that Algeria just beat Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup tourney. Bit of an upset.

regarding the Milan derby, I am not an "I told you so" kinda guy, but, boy, shall I be dishing out a few of those this week.

wasn't it obvious to begin with though ?

Yes, yes, it was. But, wasn't sure if Milan deserved the benefit of the doubt, what with Ronaldinho back to form, etc, etc... They sure looked old and tired. Inter's form has me worried about having to play them in the Champions League.

Fuck, nine men played like that? Damn.

I didn't find Inter all that impressive from a footballing standpoint.

Big, strong, physical, counterattacking. Sure. It's a freaking Mourihno team.

Milan played a drastically different style and lacked a cutting edge, IMO. They had almost 70% of possession but don't have a clinical finisher like Milito.

I think that Mourihno's Inter is dangerous to anyone. I'm no more worried about playing them than many other sides. Frankly, I'm more frightened by Chelsea.

Bummer, just means that Drogba will be back for our match. Could have used a run to the finals for the Cte d'Ivoire.

Good news is that Cameroon lost, so maybe Song will be back for Sunday against ManU. I sure hope so.

ten, for most of the game

VLM, keep in mind they played without Eto'o, Stankovic and, for most of the game, without Sneijder.

Oh, for sure. I'm not the biggest Stankovic fan. I think he's a good player, smart and versatile but he wouldn't make it into the first XI Arsenal or Chelsea, would he?

Love and fear Eto'o. Sneijder is very good, but I just don't fear Inter the way I do some other clubs.

I happened to have caught some insane goals by Stankovic last year, maybe I am overestimating his overall game.

Inter and ManU represent the same problem - while you do fear their top players, it's the system you really need to fear.

Stankovich doesn't really boss a match. He makes killer contributions, for sure, but he's no Fabregas, Xavi, Rooney, Ronaldo, Gerrard, etc. I'm not trying to discount your Slavic brother, I just don't see him as someone who breaks game. Man of the match, sure.

ManU doesn't seem to have a system this year. They're in flux, but Rooney is one of a handful of players in the world that can win a game all on their own against superior competition.

Inter's system is the Mourihno system. Athletic, powerful and built around having one or two players make a goal and beast the other side into submission. The "run of play" means nothing to Mourihno. He doesn't care.

OK, you have a really important match, Villa vs. Arsenal, and you show Chelsea vs. Birmingham.

Really?

I want to kill a motherfucker.

Who knows some Russian mobsters?

Oh yeah, that's what happened. That's the game THEY want. Damn.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has received a timely injury boost with the return of Samir Nasri and Nicklas Bendtner.

This is Bendtner's chance to show that he can play at this level. He needs to start putting in some goals. He can have an almost unlimited number of crosses if he wants.

I haven't checked, but is no one broadcasting the Arsenal game here (in the US)? If not, do you know how to find a stream of it online?

The big game today at work is the City v Utd game (my boss is a longtime City supporter), so we'll be trying to get that one in.

I've never really got that site to stream well for me.

Would love to see that Manchunean derby. What's the over/under on red cards and arrests?

Yeah, it can be bit of a bitch trying to get a proper stream from that site. Most of the time I end up clicking through two of three links to find it.

The best betting category I found was 'who will foul Tevez first'.

think Sir Alex took a page out of Paul Newman's book and promised the guy 100 bucks ?

Yeah, he probably did. But they got confused and went after Bellamy instead... As much as I can't stand United (and especially their fans who throw shit) their passing was a sight yesterday. Fucking Nani, can't stand the guy, they couldn't seem to contain him. Thankfully, he couldn't really do shit after he had the ball anyway.

Whatever, Chelsea back on top!

Any predictions for Sunday?

Spurs are so front-loaded, they need to score 3-4 goals per game to win.

And I won't get into the details of this now, but if FC Hollywood do not start Pranjic, it will eventually catch up with them, especially in the UCL. Fielding your all star team is not always the answer.

Honestly - I think this was a good lesson, or a wake up call, or whatever you want to call it. Better now than later.
