Indeed.
I am worried by how predictable Gervinho is , to any well organized defense. Good energy this time, but he commits so early to any move, they know exactly when he is no longer going to pass.

Take really hard shots at the goalies so that the ball refracts into Podolski's path, taking into account Podolski's constant speed and direction.

Good grief, 'Pool were terrible. And RvP scores a hat-trick (including injury time winner) for Man U? What a shit weekend.

His lanky, awkward runs, his height, and strange control and movement just aren't comparable to anyone I can think of. He doesn't disrupt the team the way a Gerrard does, but he can mess up the timing for those around him, probably why fb thought he looked best off the bench.
With his size and types of skills, if he and been black (like Diaby, an eerily similar player, IMO), he would have been forced into more of a defensive midfield role ("the new Viera").

exactly. the fact that muller has no presence on the ball, little awareness of the players around him and poor close control is irrelevant.
thankfully, he is white and german, and has friends in high places. and so us right thinking folks can still sleep sound in our belief that he is a footballing genius.
