Jeff, north end grill is the DM place which is closing. North square is where we went last time.
Ah, thank you.

For JL:

North Square is a good regular restaurant.

North Square looks fine to me. But, really, if you all can agree on something you like better, we're the strangers in town.

north square is fine by me. Jeff - can you take care of reservations? 6 people, 6:30 or 7pm?
I leave for Japan in 14 hours.

If there are problems (friday nights are busy) let's do Cafe Loup instead. If not them, then NE Grill.

Cliff Rosenberg has said he would try to come to this. Since he hasn't posted here, I guess you should reserve for six and hope there won't be a problem in upping it to 7.

We's confirmed and reserved:

Northsquare Restaurant & Lounge
103 Waverly Pl, New York, NY 10011
Fri, Nov 16, 2018 6:30 PM
Party of 6, Dining Room

Reservation adjusted upward to seven persons.

Note that corkage is $25/bottle. (That's the usual arrangement, Jay, or are there some magic words I am supposed to say?)

OK, so I am confronting a semi-ethical problem: sometime ago, on another board (and besides the wench is dead), I promised Jayson that given his liking of Rayas, I would bring some other CDP from a northern vineyard that he might like. But Jay will also be at dinner and it is practically lèse majesté to bring a CdP to a dinner with Jay. Now I expect Jayson could happily do without this promise being kept, but if the two of you have a ruling, I'll gladly follow it.

Crap. I forgot about this dinner. I told you I always forget to check the jeebus board.

Since I had to cancel a C9dP event this week, I will probably bring one for Jonathan. A special bottle. But it would be nice to be able to bring something else too without the corkage hit. Can’t we get them to fix corkage at like $20 or $25 per person instead of per bottle?

Ok, now Jayson is bringing a CdP? I think I'll spare Jay more than one of them and bring a vin septrentional. What were you doing at a CuP event, Jayson?

Culling. And people are threatening to bring some decent wine from Beaucastel, Charvin, the Rayas stable, etc.

I’m only bringing C9 because of you. I’m thinking about my last bottle of old school Clos St. Jean from before the dark times—the 1994. Purchased 20 years ago.

Charvin was one of the domaines I was thinking of bringing, but you already know about him. If you have tasted the Chapelle St. Theodoric Grand Pin or even La Guigasse, you have my two best bids for other CdPs you might like. Though if you liked old style Clos St. Jean, and your problem is merely with the modern stuff, there are many other places I could think of. Jay has had Charvin, though. He says its spinach and he says to hell with it.
