Florida Jim
It’s an all Vince night.
With crackers and cheese;
2019 Chardonnay, Royer Vineyard: while showing young, this wine has that remarkable ozone presence - like standing next to a fountain - with citrus and stone fruit, depth and simply stunning focus. Balanced, long and memorable.
This is the very best domestic white wine I’ve tasted and will stand with any Corton Charlemagne. 12.4 abv.
With smoked pork with faro with chicories:
2021 Pinot Noir, Ribbon Ridge: soulful, deep, identifiably Ribbon Ridge and, while also showing young, fully open - just firm. Also balanced and long with lots of upside. 12.5 abv.
If you are not drinking Vincent wines, I would love to hear why.
Best, Jim
