Good time. Sorry that you had auto issues, Nathan. I trust you made it back to Reston without incident.(?)
I think you were right about the Steiner Hund suffering from some poor storage, though I found it alternately enjoyable and interesting, nonetheless.
The Baudry was quite good. Ian, the thing about it being a middle cuvee comes from something I read a long time ago. Frederich, perhaps. I certainly didn't mean to say that any particular cuvee by Baudry is inferior to any other. They are all quite good. And I think that a lot of A-S-T CabFrs age splendidly.
There was also a 2004 Alois Trebulanum opened. My fault. Never had a varietal Casavecchia wine before. Not many at the table tried it, though. While interesting, it may suffer a bit from ambitious wine-making. Maybe five or so years will smooth it out. I could stand being a little leaner.
The Deiss was disappointing. OTH? Cooked? It should have been better.
The cork imps have been hounding me lately. So it was probably my fault about the Fevre and Chevillon. I really liked the Pfalz Riesling that Georg brought. And the other wines that others have mentioned, too.
We boys were pretty shameless about the recioto. Poor Queen Bee had to settle for a glassful of dregs.
