2007 Clos Roche Blanche Gamay Touraine
My first time buying and drinking this wine that I can remember. I had heard many good things about this QPR. I was kind of shocked to see an artificial cork as I bought a few with the idea of laying some down. Ruby in color, mostly clear and bright. The nose is interesting with boysenberries, concentrated cranberry juice and a bit of cherry soda. Medium to full bodied. On the palate, this is nice, not overtly ripe, but certainly not under ripe. Easy and smooth to drink with a nice mouthfeel. 12% Alc which is great. Not a whole lot of complexity at this point but plenty of value for the money.
So can this be laid down to age? Even with the artificial closure?
