Recent Beaujolais vintages

folks leap on the 04 green burg shit because there's a flavor component they can find in it.

ta da!!!

holy fuck. something they can agree on. like they is experts or somefink. boners all round.
Couldn't see the bottom of the post on my laptop, but it was at about this point that I knew we were hearing from the fatboy.

The textbook case for ladybug taint was Niagara 2001, and the flavouring was distinctly peanutty.

I'm very sorry that I have only one more bottle of Lapierre's 1995 Morgon, and none any older than that.

1991 was a great vintageEverything has been downhill since then.

91 dauvissat preuses was just coming around friday night. and it tasted like chablis, rather than faux cote d'or grand cru crap, which is always a relief.

no ladybugs either.

fb.

Brad, which Lapierre '07's did you try?

I've come across the Beaujolais ($17) Morgon and Le Cambon (both $26) and am interested in getting a bottle or two. Appreciate your insights, if you tasted any of these.

Otto, I had the same feeling until I had one of the green 04s - and you will know it when you do. Sort of a strong green tobacco element that really predominates in an almost bretty way.

Oh, sort of like Loire cabernet franc in a ripe year. (evil demoticon here)

A 2004 Voillot Pommard Rugiens was just about undrinkably green earlier this week, and I'm not averse to wines with lower ripeness. Maybe that wine will come around (with Burgundy there are no rules, right), but I'll be surprised.
