After replacing the receiver with the Naim amp + preamp, we suddenly found ourselves bereft without NPR. A trip to our local vintage gear place (Hawthorne, where I got the Naim stuff) remedied that - a gloriously mint 1977 Pioneer TX 8500 II tuner.
I seriously had no idea how good radio could sound. The soundstage, everything - better. We have really clear reception where we are and there's times that this sounds better than the CD player. I didn't really get it that tuner separates (at least good ones) provide superb source material.
We are having a non-stop KEXP fest now - check it out online.
