2002 Vincent Dauvissat (Ren & Vincent) Chablis 1er Cru La Forest, alc 13%...promising pale yellow color...apple and pear on the nose...rich with some quince and a gentle nuttiness on the palate... I love the richness and the acidity....long smooth finish...no premature anything (except consumption)...

What can I say... of the 111 Chardonnay based wines in my cellar, 81 are from France and 55 are Chablis...love the stuff!!

No blended except Champagne, 3 Jura, 1 sw France, 1 Oregon, US/CA producers represented by Walter Hansel (low oak, more Burgundy-ish) then some Brewer-Clifton and Ramey for a good friend who prefers this style of wine..

I was kinda being facetious in that almost chardonnay is just that. "Based" implies the major component of a blend and that's pretty rare, chardonnay is usually mono cepage. Although some might say those CA ones are blended with wood...

In the US both Rhys and Arcadian are doing nice things with chardonnay.

I hope that streak continues for you, I've had DOA bottles from both years. I don't know if you are aware of this but folks post about bottles they open. Over time a picture is developing.

Yes, I am aware. I note that Dauvissat 00 and 02 are listed with very few oxidized bottles.
