last night at dinner at diner i had the 08 bandol roses from both pradeaux and tempier. it was my first time having both wines in the same sitting.
in every way imaginable the tempier out-classed the pradeaux. having said this, the pradeaux was delicious and a great wine (i have always been a fan), it simply suffered in comparison to the tempier.
where the tempier was integrated and really a complete and harmonious wine, the padeaux was disjointed and awkward, really showing its alcohol. the tempier was gorgeous fruit and structure, confident and simply delicious, the pradeaux never really found where it wanted to go, jutting out in every direction... awkward.
what are everyone's impressions of these two wines? as i said, i have always loved both wines, but head-to-head the tempier was, last night, clearly the better wine.
