Poulsard in North America?

Actually, I have heard (not yet verified) that a local grower here is interested in several of the Jura grapes, including poulsard. Whether or not he grows them, I would imagine, will be based on whether or not he could sell them. And another winemaker here and I have expressed interest.
So we'll see.
That's the only poulsard I've heard of out here.
Best, Jim

Which also brings up the question of whether poulsard is grown outside of the Jura? Anywhere else in France? Europe?

We need to know more about this grape and what it can do.

Jim, is there nursery that has the vine? I couldn't even figure out if it has been imported.

Kay,
I don't know but I suspect there is; only because of what I heard and who I heard it from.
But heaven knows where . . .
Best, Jim

If somebody were to tell me that Poulsard and Rossese were basically the same thing, I wouldn't be too surprised.

But so far, no one has told me that.

Lots of rumors floating around in this thread but no facts beyond Cliff's historical reference. And after reading that account it doesn't sound like they had high hopes for the grape.

Poulsard is the same thing as Ploussard.
