TN: German, Alsatian and Champagne with Szechuan.

Interesting- thanks, all.

My experience draws a bit from everyone's- at the table I preferred the non-Riesling offerings (though a '04 Kappelweg wasn't bad). The standouts were an '05 Auxerrois Moenchreben, an '04 Pinot Gris, and a '98 Gewurtz Obere Weingarten. I've got a question mark next to the price they were asking, and a scrawl on the younger Gewurtz asking where the palate was (though it was an '03, so I didn't hold it too much against it).

1995 Piper Heidsieck- Champagne Blanc des Millnaires
Fresh and crisp with good fruit and a medium bead. Nicely red appley with biscuits and mineral. Low A-.

Couldn't open the picture but assume you meant Charles?

Good catch. Thanks. I've made the correction.
